Gairloch Heritage Museum
The museum is at the junction of the A832 and the B8031 in the centre of Gairloch. Tel: 01445 712287 Visit this great museum to see history come alive! Housed in a complex of old farm buildings, Gairloch Heritage Museum is a record of life in the area from pre-history to the present day. The museum was established in 1977 by the local heritage society and has so far won seven national awards. 
Inverewe Gardens, National Trust for Scotland, Poolewe Tel: 0844 4932225 The most famous of Scotland's gardens is situated in North West Scotland amid scenery of great natural beauty. The garden was begun in the 19th century by Osgood Mackenzie a member of the Mackenzie of Gairloch family. It is an oasis of greenery and colour, as far north as Labrador in the west and St.Petersberg in the east, it is warmed by the Gulf Stream and able to sustain plants from many temperate regions of the world.

FLY FISHING Information about available fly fishing can be sought from the following:
Gairloch Angling Club with much brown trout fishing on many hill lochs in the area plus salmon and sea trout fishing on the River Kerry. Tickets are available from shops in the area and the Creag Mhor Hotel. 
Shieldaig Lodge Hotel with salmon and sea trout fishing on Loch Badachro, the River Badachro and brown trout fishing on the famous Fairy Lochs, Loch Gobhain and other lochs in the area.. Hotel guests have first priority.
Inveran Estates have the River Ewe and the lower end of Loch Maree, fishing when available is from the keeper at Poolewe.
The National Trust for Scotland (Inverewe) has fishing on lochs, including Kernsary and Loch na Ba Coul. Tickets from Inverewe Gardens . Kinlochewe Angling Club has hill loch fishing on various lochs throughout the area. Laide Post Office sells tickets to the lochs on the Slaggan Peninsula.

Beinn Eighe, Britain’s first National Nature Reserve, features wonderful mountain scenery and ancient pinewood fragments overlooking Loch Maree.
The reserve is home to typical Highland wildlife, including red deer, golden eagle and the elusive pine marten.
